About the Project
Shufti is an advanced Know Your Customer (KYC) and identity verification platform that enables enterprises to meet regulatory compliance requirements, reduce fraud risk, and streamline customer onboarding processes.I contributed to the design of the back-office compliance dashboard, the operational core used by compliance officers and risk teams to review, monitor, and manage identity verification requests at scale. The primary design challenge was translating regulatory complexity into an interface that is secure, clear, and highly efficient for daily operational use.

The Challenge
Compliance dashboards often overwhelm users with dense data, unclear statuses, and inefficient review flows. The challenge was to design an interface that supports fast decision-making while maintaining strict adherence to KYC, AML, and CDD standards—without introducing usability risks or operational errors.

Immersion & Domain Understanding
Designing with regulatory context, not just visuals
To ensure accuracy and relevance, I immersed myself in compliance operations and constraints:
Studied KYC, AML, and CDD regulatory requirements
Analyzed how compliance officers review verification cases under time pressure
Mapped end-to-end verification workflows from submission to decision
Identified friction points in case review, escalation, and status tracking
Reviewed existing enterprise dashboards to benchmark efficiency and clarity
This phase ensured the design aligned with real compliance workflows, not assumptions.
