UI/UX Design

About the Project

SwiftFix is a smart maintenance management application designed to help individuals and teams organize, track, and automate household and appliance maintenance tasks. Users can add appliances such as air conditioners or washing machines, define installation dates, and set maintenance scheduleseither manually or through AI-powered predictive recommendations. As the UI/UX Designer, my responsibility was to create a frictionless, mobile-first experience that reduces mental load while making recurring maintenance tasks visible, predictable, and easy to manage. The design balances automation with user trust, ensuring AI suggestions feel helpful rather than intrusive.

(01)

The Challenge

Users often forget maintenance tasks until breakdowns occur, leading to unexpected costs and frustration. Existing solutions were either too manual, poorly structured, or lacked intelligent scheduling. The challenge was to design an experience that encourages proactive maintenance without overwhelming users with complexity or excessive data input.

Immersion & Research

Understanding real-world service scheduling behavior

To build a solution grounded in real usage patterns, I conducted focused discovery and analysis:

  • Studied how users currently track household and appliance maintenance

  • Analyzed competing service and task management apps

  • Identified friction points in task logging and schedule setup

  • Observed trust barriers around automated or AI-driven scheduling

  • Mapped everyday maintenance scenarios for individuals and small teams

This research revealed a strong need for clarity, reminders, and lightweight automation.

UX Strategy & Design Approach

Mobile-first, AI-assisted, and highly intuitive

The design strategy focused on simplicity, visibility, and scalability:

  • Implemented AI-driven predictive scheduling for recurring maintenance tasks

  • Designed card-based layouts optimized for tap-friendly mobile interactions

  • Created interactive dashboards showing upcoming tasks and timelines at a glance

  • Structured a scalable information architecture adaptable for individual users and teams

  • Minimized data entry with smart defaults and progressive disclosure

The result was an interface that feels approachable while remaining powerful.

Wireframing, Prototyping & Usability Testing

Validating usability through everyday scenarios

Design concepts were tested and refined through multiple iterations:

  • Developed low- and high-fidelity wireframes for core task flows

  • Prototyped end-to-end journeys from item creation to maintenance reminders

  • Conducted usability testing using real-life maintenance use cases

  • Refined interaction patterns to reduce friction and cognitive load

  • Ensured consistency across screens for long-term usability

Testing confirmed faster task setup and higher confidence in automated suggestions.

Final Outcome & Impact

A trusted system for proactive maintenance management

The final product delivers a clear, reliable maintenance experience:

  • Reduced missed maintenance through predictive reminders

  • Improved task visibility with timeline-driven dashboards

  • Increased user trust in AI-assisted scheduling

  • A design system ready for future features and team-based workflows

  • A modern, intuitive mobile experience aligned with daily usage habits

SwiftFix demonstrates how thoughtful UI/UX design can bridge automation, usability, and trust transforming routine maintenance into a seamless, proactive process.
